This is absolutely amazing technology. It transforms barcodes into a wealth of information. It’ll be presented as one of the lead papers at SIGGRAPH this year. Absolutely amazing.
These are the both the most expensive and the best grapes I’ve ever had.
They are best known in Japan. But Taiwan and Korea have them as well. If you look at the packaging in the picture below, the price is correct. S$85 for a small box of them. That’s nearly $60 USD. So about 1-2 dollars A GRAPE!!
The best way to describe them is to describe them in terms of candy they sell in the US. Imagine the flavor of Japanese chewing gum crossed with the texture of gummy bears.
They have a very thick skin and have a seed or two each. But they are worth every dollar. You can pick up some of the cheaper varieties for about 1/4 the price. But, the difference is astounding.
Here’s a link to some more pictures and information about the launch here in Singapore.
This is just the outside line. There are lines inside the building as well. Nuts.
So, Apple and Singtel has just released the new iPhone 3GS here in Singapore. And I’m in line to pick one up.
I’m sure I’ve mentioned before that Singaporeans love to “queue” or line up for thing. They also love good deals and they have a love for new tech gadgets. This has led to the most unholiest of trinities. A 5 hour line!!!
And the deal is so good I can’t pass it up either. I’ll be able to pick up a new iPhone 3GS for only S$38 this weekend with a 2 year contract. Normally it’ll cost S$1200 to buy it outright. Nuts. Absolutely nuts.
Here’s a pic of the first line of 3 that I’ll need to get into to purchase my phone.
