I just found out there is a measurement called a Cun or a Chinese Inch. How confusing is that? The Chinese inch is a bit longer than the American inch.
1 Chinese Inch = 1.762 American Inches… I think.

Thursday, October 16th, 2008We have a breakfast once a week provided by the company. It’s usually a variety of things. Sometimes Asian, sometimes western.
Every once in a while we have breakfast cereal. I’ve never seen this before, but it’s broad acceptance at my company leads me to believe that the US is one of the few countries that doesn’t do this. People mix their cereals. My Asian colleages do it. My Australian colleagues do it. My European colleages do it as well.
And I’m not talking logical mixtures. They mix it all.
I’ve seen combos like Granola, fruit loops, coco puffs, topped with fruit cocktail. That’s just bizzare to me.
Does anyone feel the same? Or am I just old fashioned?

Sunday, September 14th, 2008I went to the market to do some grocery shopping and spotted a whole wall of this “imposter” milk. Here’s a pic for your viewing pleasure.
Notice the expiry date and the fact that it is called a milk “Beverage” and not just simply milk.
Weirdness in a taxi
Saturday, August 2nd, 2008Singapore’s official language is English. Therefore it is only natural for everyone to speak English. But, there is something not quite right about sitting in a taxi cab here with an old Chinese uncle driving… while he blasts Britney Spears. There are some things I just won’t get used to. Weird.
